2018 Bring it Indoors Wrap-Up

Thank you to ALL teams – coaches, players, parents and supporters – who came out to Bays’ annual Bring it Indoors tournaments in December. Fun was had, new friends were made and spirits were high! A special thanks to the eight teams who travelled to Victoria from Salt Spring, Surrey, Nanaimo, Cowichan and Sooke to play with us. We hope to see you again next year.

Minis: December 14-16

There were some great costumes and fun, yet hard fought games in this non-competitive tournament. In total, 36 teams (300+ players) played 54 games.

Youth: December 28-30

Competitors were out in full-force for this fun tournament. 35 youth teams (250+ players) played 63 games and the champions in each category went home with well-earned hardware. The following teams took the win for their age division:

U12 Boys Villains Island Fire FA
U12 Girls Candy Cane Crush Lakehill SA
U12/13 Boys Bays Republic Bays United FC
U13/14 Boys Young Guns Island Fire FA
U13/14 Girls Sleigh Belles Gorge SA
U14/15 Boys Old School Island Fire FA
U14/15 Girls Shenanigans Surge A collection of VIPL players
U15/16 Girls Sleigh What? A collection of Wave players

The U12 Girls final was a true nail biter! Bays Speed Demons vs. Lakehill Candy Cane Crush with the game tied at the end of regulation time and still tied after 5 minutes of extra time. The match then moved to 3v3 with no goalie, and they managed to hold each other off for several minutes before Lakehill executed a perfectly placed kick from one end of the field to the other, over the head of the final defender and into the goal for the win. A great game girls!
